I made it! Another year gone and so much achieved, art wise. Actually, I can't believe how far I have come with my painting generally. Barely 18 months ago I made up my mind that I was going to pursue my love for watercolours. I had huge amounts of encouragement from friends and family, and want to thank everyone who were involved in my progress most sincerely for the ongoing support, love and inspiration this last year.
I have not painted as much as I'd have liked, but this year I have the opportunity, so I'll take advantage of this time to get stuck in and paint and paint and paint, or, practice, practice, practice! Here are a few rough sketches I did in the journals I purchased..... what horrible paper! Think I'll have to use it for sketching in pencil and ink.

Happy New Year, Debbie! Your art journey over the past year has been an inspiration to see and exciting to watch as your friend. I'm eager to see where you go with it in 2010!
BTW, I've been trying to send you a message on FB, but for some reason I can't send PM's there today, but I wanted to wish you a happy, healthy, and joyful 2010!
You are very kind Melissa....thank you!..... it's encouragement like this that is so beneficial to one and helps one realise how important it is to have support, no matter how far we are from each other.
I must be honest though.... Your art has also grown in leaps and bounds Melissa, and am also eager to watch you soar!
Strange that you aren't able to connect on my FB.. I have had a couple of PM's today!!!!! Hmmmmm?
Hi Debbie, that second sketch would make a brilliant larger painting! Well done on your sketchbook and may 2010 be full of wonderful art created by you to enjoy and feel really proud of......................may your watercolour journey be only beginning!
Jean
Thank you Jean! I think these sketchbooks will only be used for jotting down things and sketching in.
This is going to be my growing year in watercolours Jean, I have made it a goal (not that I ever stick to them) but I am ready!!
